UPDATE: The man rescued from a Chesterfield County home fire Sunday morning has succumbed to his injuries.
Lt. Jason Elmore of the Chesterfield Fire Department confirmed that Glen Paul Kenney, 60, died at VCU Medical Center upon arrival.
The victim suffered severe burns and smoke inhalation in an early-morning fire, which started in the home's kitchen.

Chesterfield, VA—One man suffered life-threatening injuries after being rescued from a Chesterfield house fire early Sunday morning.
Fire crews were called to the 500 block of Old Country Court by neighbors, who had spotted flames shooting from the rear of the home.
When crews arrived on-scene at 1:12 AM, they pulled a man from the house; he was transported to VCU Medical Center for treatment of burns and smoke inhalation. As of press time, his condition remains unknown.
Crews confirm that the fire began in the home's kitchen, but they are still working to determine the cause of the fire, and if there were smoke detectors present in the home.
No one was inside the home, except the male victim. No firefighters suffered injury during this incident.
