Man Arrested After Shooting, Wounding Son

SPOTSYLVANIA, VA—A man is in stable condition after being shot by his father Saturday evening.

Spotsylvania Police arrested and charged Daniel Roh, 49, with malicious wounding after he shot his son in the left shoulder, police said.

Police responded to the 8600 block of Laroque Run Dr. for a domestic situation and a shooting at approximately 8:00 p.m. Saturday.

One victim, described as a 30-year-old man, was found shot in his left shoulder. The victim's father, Daniel Roh, 49, told police he shot his son after fearing for his life.

When police arrived, they found Daniel Roh administering first aid to his son and applying pressure to the wound.

Daniel Roh was arrested at the recommendation of an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney, police said. Roh is being held without bond.

Police said the victim had been arguing with his parents early in the day. The victim, when asked to leave the home, did, but said he was going to return with a gun and kill his mother and father, authorities said..

The victim returned to the home while his parents were upstairs, around 7:45 p.m. When the son refused to leave, Daniel Roh fired the gun, hitting the victim in the shoulder, police said.

Authorities said the victim did not have a weapon. He is being treated and is in stable condition.
