CULPEPER, Va. (AP) - A former Culpeper police officer will face a January trial in the shooting death of an unarmed woman.

The Culpeper Star-Exponent reports a Culpeper County circuit judge on Tuesday set Daniel Harmon-Wright's trial on murder and gun charges for Jan 22.

Judge Susan L. Whitlock took under advisement a defense motion to move the trial to Campbell County.

Harmon-Wright was fired from his job in June.

Police have said Harmon-Wright was responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle in a church parking lot when he fatally shot 54-year-old Patricia Cook.
