VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - Virginia Beach police are looking for two suspects who stole more than 200 pounds of X-ray film from a hospital.
Police spokeswoman Grazia Moyers says the theft occurred last week from Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.
Security initially denied the suspects entrance to the hospital because they lacked proper identification, but the suspects re-entered a short time later and approached a radiology worker.
Moyers says the suspects were directed to a film room after telling the employee they were there to pick up X-ray film.
Moyers says investigators have learned X-ray film theft is becoming a growing problem. Thieves extract the silver from the film and then sell it.
Police are hoping images from surveillance cameras will help catch the suspects, who took off in a yellow moving truck.
