HENRICO, VA—The Henrico County School Board is considering a policy that would make all district schools tobacco free.
Under the current policy, students are prohibited from using tobacco products on campus; however, designated outside smoking areas are provided for faculty, staff and visitors.
The district says it wants to get rid of the designated smoking areas and extend the tobacco-free policy to school related and school sponsored events, including sports.
The school board will meet to discuss the policy Thursday. Stay with 8News for updates.
