VA— Five people were displaced
and one person was taken to the hospital after an apartment fire early
Wednesday morning.
The fire broke out at an apartment in the 200 block of Engleside Drive, just
before 3 a.m. Wednesday.
One person was home at the time of the fire. That person was
taken to VCU Medical Center
with burn injuries, according to officials. The victim's condition is unknown.
The fire was contained to the apartment's kitchen, fire
officials said.
The Red Cross is helping the family of five that was
displaced by the fire.
A family living above the apartment that caught fire was able
to get out the apartment.
