Carlisle, PA—Giant and Martin's Food Stores are recalling
Dole Italian Blend Salad produced by Dole Fresh Vegetables, due to a possible Listeria
monocytogenes contamination.
The bags of salad can be identified by name and UPC code: "Dole
Italian Blend Salad" UPC 7143000819.
Neither Giant nor Martin's have received any reports of
illness to date.
Customers who purchased the salad are urged to discard
unused portions or bring the product's purchase receipt to a Giant or Martin's
store for a full refund.
Consuming food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may
lead to listeriosis, an uncommon but potentially fatal disease. Symptoms
include high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea. Those with weakened
immune systems may suffer serious infections.
