RICHMOND, VA- A woman told police she was abducted and raped near VCU's campus around 2:45 a.m. Tuesday.
The victim told police she was smoking a cigarette in the parking lot of the Rite-Aid at Belvidere and Broad Street when she was approached by a man in a vehicle.
After a short conversation, the man grabbed the woman and forced her into the car, the victim reported.
The victim told police she was driven to the area of Jackson Ward, where she was raped by her abductor, who then released her.
The woman told police the man was driving a late '90s light green or blue Cadillac.
A spokesperson with the Richmond Police Department said the incident is being investigated as a suspicious situation.
