Ryan Campaigns At RIC After Romney Cancels Trip

Posted: Updated:

RICHMOND, VA. (AP) – Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan made a campaign stop in Richmond by himself on Friday, after presidential nominee Mitt Romney announced he would not visit Virginia but would tour hurricane damage in Louisiana.

Rep. Paul Ryan spoke at the Martinair's general aviation hangar at Richmond International Airport.

Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell and Senate candidate George Allen were at the 2 p.m. rally.

The event came just two days after President Barack Obama ended a three-city swing-state tour of college campuses at Charlottesville on Wednesday.
