HARRISONBURG, VA—Police have identified the 17-month-old girl who died after being struck by a SUV in a wreck near a Harrisonburg school bus stop that injured six others Friday morning.

Kate Beagle, a 17-month-old from Verona, died at Rockingham Memorial Hospital after being struck by a vehicle while walking near a school bus stop, police said.

Four children and two adults were injured when the driver of a Jeep SUV lost control, ran off the right side of the road and struck the crowd, police said.

Beagle's older sister was also at the bus stop. She was not seriously injured, but was transported to RMH as a precautionary measure.

Two other children, a 2-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl, were at the bus stop with their babysitter, Christina Glick.

Glick, 27, of Harrisonburg, had her 7-month old son with her. A second adult, Oriana Good, 45, of Harrisonburg, was also with the group.

Police said the two adults and the five children were walking away from the bus stop when they were struck by the SUV early Friday morning.

All of the victims were taken to Rockingham Memorial Hospital. Police said none of the surviving children suffered life-threatening injures.

Oriana Good suffered serious but non-life threatening injures and was flown from RMH to UVA Hospital.

The driver of the Jeep, a 16-year-old male from Harrisonburg, Virginia, was charged with felony involuntary manslaughter. He was not injured in the wreck. Police are not releasing the name of the driver.

The wreck happened around 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of Nutmeg Court and Westwind Drive. in the Belmont subdivision, Virginia State Police said.

The cause of the wreck is still under investigation.
