    State Police are assisting authorities in Sussex County as they search for a man who fled into the woods Tuesday afternoon.

HOPEWELL, VA—Police have arrested a man in connection with a bank robbery in October of last year.

Salvatore Manuel Jr. of the 4000 block of Lawnwood Dr., Chesterfield, Virginia arrested September 7, 2012. Manuel was charged with federal bank robbery.

Police say Manuel robbed the Bank of America located at 101 E. City Point Rd. in Hopewell, on October 31, 2011.

Police say Manuel entered the bank, showed a weapon and demanded an undisclosed amount of money. He then fled the scene on foot, police said.

Manuel was arrested following a joint investigation by the Hopewell Police Department and the FBI. He is currently in custody of the US Marshall's Service.
