MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - A Virginia man convicted of killing a West Virginia woman and her 3-year-old son will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Media outlets say 35-year-old Antonio Prophet of Lorton, Va., received two consecutive life sentences on two first-degree murder counts.

Berkeley County Circuit Court Judge Christopher C. Wilkes also sentenced Prophet to 20 years in prison on an arson charge during Monday's sentencing hearing.

Prophet was convicted on the charges in July. The jury recommended no mercy, meaning Prophet won't be eligible for parole.

Prosecutors say Prophet killed 22-year-old Angela Devonshire and her son, Andre White, and then set their apartment in Bunker Hill on fire in 2010.

Prophet told the judge that he's innocent. He says the victims were killed by two men who also assaulted him.
