Bond Hearing For Henrico Dad Charged With Child Neglect
Terrell Demond Cook
HENRICO, VA- A Henrico father charged with child neglect has a bond hearing set for Wednesday.
Terrell Demond Cook, 23, of Henrico, has been charged with malicious wounding and child neglect.
Police said Cook called authorities for medical assistance after his 3-year-daughter fell ill.
Authorities found the girl suffering from injuries to her upper body, when they arrived at the resident in the 200 block of Engleside Circle in Essex Village.
Authorities have not commented on the child's injuries, other than to say they found several injuries to the child's upper torso.
"Whether the child was ill because of what happened or a previous incident is unknown at this time," Lt. Linda Toney with Henrico Police said.
If convicted, Cook faces up to 30 years in jail and $200 thousand in fines.
The victim is the daughter of Jasmine Norman, a Henrico woman charged in the death of her infant son, Jeremiah Norman, earlier this year. Jasmine has not yet been tried, but is charged with felony child neglect.
Prosecutors said Jasmine did not have any involvement in this latest incident.
