Richmond, VA—A
popular Richmond
restaurant and bar has been given one year to vacate their building.
Baja Bean Co. Restaurante & Cantina, located at 1520 West Main Street,
has been in Richmond
since 1999. The restaurant specializes in Southern California-style Mexican food,
and is a popular destination for students and residents of the area.
Representatives of Baja Bean Co. told 8News that the building's
landlord has other plans for the building, and will not renew their lease.
The building owner has not returned our calls for comment.
On Tuesday, supporters of the restaurant created a "Save Baja
Bean" Facebook page, expressing disappointment at the news. As of 3:30 PM on Tuesday, the page had nearly 700 likes.
