BLACKSTONE, Va. (AP) - Virginia State Police is ready to dedicate its driver training facility.

A ceremony will take place Thursday at the 680-acre facility in Nottoway County.

The facility includes 4.5 miles of asphalt, concrete and gravel surfaces to simulate interstate, urban and rural roads, respectively.

The site also includes a "precision driving course" and a 25,000-square foot "skid pan" to simulate various inclement road conditions.

A three-story training building includes a driver simulator room, classrooms, a cafeteria, offices and meeting space.
