RICHMOND, VA. (AP) - University of Richmond law students will get a chance to hear from Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan.
One of President Barack Obama's two picks for the nation's high court is scheduled to visit the Richmond law school Thursday. The 52-year-old associate justice will have what is described as a wide-ranging discussion with law school dean Wendy Perdue before an audience of faculty, students and guests.
Obama nominated Kagan to the court in May 2010 and she assumed her role in August that year. She had been serving as solicitor general. She previously served as dean of Harvard Law School, as an associate counsel to President Bill Clinton and as a law clerk to the late Justice Thurgood Marshall.
