RICHMOND, VA—Police confirm the body found Thursday at Ancarrow's boat landing in Richmond is that of a missing Chesterfield store owner.

The body of Paresh Patel was discovered around 4 p.m. Thursday near the James River. The body was found by a city worker cleaning the parking lot area, police officials said.

Sources close to the investigation tell 8News that Patel died of a gunshot wound to the head.

Patel, owner of the Raceway gas station, located at 5600 Jefferson Davis Highway, was allegedly abducted from the store just before 6:00 a.m. Sunday.

An eyewitness told police they saw two men wearing dark clothing force Patel into a dark-colored van.

Roger Clark, a neighbor of Patel's described him as kind, friendly and hardworking. "Never a problem out of him," Clark says of Patel. "Just as nice as he can be. Good neighbors."
