Henrico, VA--A man shot by police officers after a pursuit in Henrico County on September 9 is set to appear in court Monday morning.
William Hedgepeth II, 25, faces charges of felony eluding of police, stemming from an incident earlier this month.
As officers attempted to stop Hedgepeth's vehicle, he allegedly fled the scene and initiated a police pursuit near Laburnum Avenue, police said.
Hedgepeth led police on a pursuit through Richmond and Henrico County. The pursuit ended when the suspect's vehicle and a police car collided near Three Chopt Road and Patterson Avenue.
After the vehicles collided, police said shots were fired and Hedgepeth fled on foot. Officers pursued the suspect and detained him near Edmonstone Avenue.
Hedgepth suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the arm, police said. The officer involved in the incident was placed on administrative leave, which police said was police policy.
In July 2008, Hedgepeth pleaded guilty to charges of possession of a sawed-off shotgun, possession of explosive materials and/or devices and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was sentenced to a five year suspended sentence, supervised probation and a $500 fine.
Police began the 2008 investigation into Hegdepeth after his Henrico neighbors reported hearing explosions in his backyard.
