ASHLAND, VA—A fraternity house at Randolph-Macon College caught fire early Wednesday morning.
The fire broke out around 12:54 a.m. at the Theta Chi fraternity house located at 113 College Avenue.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they found heavy fire coming through the roof.
Fourteen students were inside the house at the time of the fire. Everyone inside the house make it out safety.
One person was treated on scene for smoke inhalation.
Thirty firefighters and seven fire trucks responded to the fire. It took crews just more than a hour to get the fire under control at 2:11 a.m.
Randolph-Macon College's Student Emergency Medical Services team was also dispatched to the fire to assist students and first responders
The college is working to find alternate housing for those students displaced by the fire and will provide counseling to student.
The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
