Richmond, VA—After police found a 13-year-old girl who was allegedly coerced into traveling to Richmond to prostitute herself, two women have been arrested.
Whitney Rachell Hayes and Rachael Michelle Masingene, both 20 and of Charlotte, North Carolina, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to transport an individual across state lines for purposes of prostitution on Thursday.
Hayes and Masingene admitted that they met the 13-year-old victim in Miami, Florida in February or March 2012. The women encouraged the girl to travel with them to Charlotte, North Carolina, where they were living and working as prostitutes.
The women, along with their pimp, Korey Jermaine Reynolds, transported the victim from Florida to Charlotte. From March 2012 until May 2012, the girl lived in various hotels in the Charlotte area with the women, and worked as a prostitute. She provided the majority of her earnings to Reynolds.
In May 2012, the girl came with Hayes and Massingene to Richmond to engage in prostitution. They were discovered by Henrico Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation during this time.
Hayes and Massingene face a maximum penalty of five years' incarceration when they are sentenced on January 11, 2013. Reynolds pled guilty to Transporting a Minor Across State Lines for Purposes of Prostitution on July 3, 2012. He faces a minimum sentence of ten years and a maximum sentence of life when he is sentenced on October 2, 2012.
