CHESTERFIELD, VA—Police have identified the pedestrian who was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Chesterfield County late Thursday night.
Billy C. Edwards, 58, of Chesterfield County, was struck and killed as he attempted to cross the street just before 11 p.m. Thursday, police said.
It happened in the 9700 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. Police said Edwards was attempting to cross the street when he was struck by the vehicle traveling south.
The driver of the vehicle that struck Edwards stopped at the scene. The driver's name has not been released and no charges have been filed at this time.
Alcohols and speed were not a factor in the crash, according to authorities. The crash remains under investigation.
