RICHMOND, VA—A man attacks and robs a 71-year-old Richmond woman, stealing her rent money.
Delores Morgano was walking to the bank Wednesday, when a man approached her and stole her money.
"It was like a twilight zone," Delores Morgano said about the robbery. "I didn't really know what was happening to me until he was ripping my pants pocket out."
Morgano makes the ten minute walk to the bank once a month, so she can withdrawal money to pay her rent.
She had just taken out $500 to pay her $800 rent, when she was robbed.
"He seen me when I put it in my back pocket," Morgano said of the man who took her money. "I don't think he knew how much it was because when he took it, he stopped there to count it."
Morgano says her landlord has been understating, but that she still needs to pay half of her rent.
In the future, Morgano says she'll walk with some as she goes to the bank.
