ROANOKE, Va. (AP) - A new free mobile app is available to travelers who want to plan a trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway and surrounding areas.
The Blue Ridge Parkway Association says the "Blue Ridge Parkway - Travel Planner" app includes information on lodging and camping, major hiking trails, historical information and visitor services.
The app also has GPS mapping capabilities.
It's available for the Android and iPhone platforms. It can be downloaded from the association's website at www.blueridgeparkway.org/mobileapp.
