RICHMOND, VA. (AP) - Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is making his way back to Virginia.
His campaign says Romney will attend rallies at Tidewater Community College in Chesapeake and Ida Lee Park in Leesburg on Wednesday afternoon. His running mate Paul Ryan is scheduled to visit Lynchburg and Fredericksburg on Tuesday.
Romney's stops will follow the second debate presidential debate set for Tuesday night in New York.
The visits are the latest in a string of what have become frequent campaign stops by both sides in Virginia, a battleground state, in the campaign's stretch run.
Polls show Romney all but wiping out a lead President Barack Obama held just two weeks ago. In 2008, Obama became the first Democratic presidential candidate to carry Virginia since 1964.
