Henrico Police Officer Injured In Hit & Run Accident

Richmond, VA—A Henrico County Police officer has been taken to the hospital, after a tractor trailer forced his motorcycle off the road and fled the scene.

Just before 11:30 on Thursday morning, the off-duty officer was traveling east on Williamsburg road, driving his personal motorcycle. A red logging trailer hauling a full load of logs changed lanes, forcing the officer off the road. The officer crashed his motorcycle in the grass median in the middle of the roadway.

The 18-wheel truck left the scene following the accident. It was last seen heading east on Williamsburg Road.

The extent of the officer's injuries is unknown at this time, but police say the 33-year-old man is in stable condition.
