NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - The eastbound lanes of the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel will be closing for paving over the next few days.
The Virginia Department of Transportation is urging travelers to avoid using Interstate 64 eastbound in that area starting Friday night, when the paving work will begin. It continues through Monday morning.
Eastbound traffic during the paving work will be detoured to the I-664 Monitor-Merrimac Bridge-Tunnel. Motorists can expect up to a half-mile delay beginning at 9 p.m. until the work zone is cleared the following morning.
