3 Arrested In String Of Thefts Across Central Virginia
POWHATAN, VA—Three men police say are suspected in a string of thefts in more than half a dozen counties are behind bars.
Justin Sandford, 23, James Wickline, 22, and Adam Young, 25, all who reside in the Highland Springs/Sandston area, were arrested Wednesday.
The three were each charged with attempted breaking and entering, conspiracy to commit a felony and possession of burglary tools, after a Powhatan County Sheriff's deputy discovered a suspicious vehicle parked behind an auto repair shop in the 3100 block of Anderson Highway.
Upon further investigation, search warrants were obtained and executed in several jurisdictions, revealing a large amount of stolen property from numerous counties.
Stolen property was discovered in Cumberland County, King and Queen County, Powhatan County, Middlesex County, Henrico County, Chesterfield County and Prince George County.
The Powhatan Sheriff's Office said multiple charges were expected as deputies continue to investigate.
