CHESTERFIELD, VA—The off ramp from Route 288 northbound to Route 10 eastbound in Chesterfield will be temporarily closed as crews work to upright a tractor trailer that overturned during a wreck early Thursday morning.
It happened at approximately 5:39 a.m. Thursday. Police said the driver of a tractor trailer attempted to exit onto Route 10 eastbound and ran off the left side of the roadway before overturning.
The driver, Michael A. Chicas-Sanchez, 31, of Bay Shore, New York, was charged with reckless driving-failure to maintain proper control. Police said speed was a factor in the crash.
Chicas-Sanchez suffered minor injuries and was assessed at the scene by emergency medical technicians, police said.
The trailer was loaded with approximately 30,000 pounds of bundled trash.
The ramp is currently open, but will be closed while crews work to upright the tractor-trailer and tow it from the scene.
