RICHMOND, VA—Just as trick or treaters were walking the streets in Church Hill, a driver involved in a Richmond Police chase jumped out of his moving vehicle allowing the car to swerve out of control and strike nine other cars before coming to a stop.
Amonte D. Speid, 19, of the 2800 block of East Franklin Street, was arrested and charged with felony eluding police, possession of marijuana and failure to obey a traffic sign.
Richmond Police officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation at 32nd and Clay streets at approximately 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Police said the Speid initially stopped in the 400 block of North 27th Street, but then drove away.
Speid jumped out of the moving vehicle a few minutes later, police said, allowing the car to strike nine parked cars before coming to a stop.
No one was injured during the incident, police said.
