HENRICO, VA-A former Steward School and Henrico County Division of Parks and Recreation employee has been arrested on child pornography charges.

Michael Winston Baynes, 59, of the 1700 block of Hollandale Road in western Henrico, was arrested and charged with received child pornography.

Baynes purchased 12 DVDs containing child pornography between November 9, 2009 and January 2, 2011, according to federal indictments.

The DVD contained videos of nude boys which appeared as young at 10-years-old, according to court documents.

Baynes told officers he'd purchased the DVD through an Amazon shopping website, and stated he believed they were probably illegal, but "figured it was OK if it was on Amazon," according to indictments.

The DVDs were found during a search of Baynes' home October 16, 2012.

During the search, officers also recovered photo albums and CDs containing photographs of adolescent boys dating back to the early 1980s, according to indictments. Photos of children outside school bus stops, pools and bleacher at athletic events were also found at Baynes' home.

Officers also located various media containing a series of secretly filmed encounters between Baynes and an adolescent boy which indictments say were filmed between 1992 and 1993. Officers learned Baynes coached the boy.

According to indictments, Baynes told officers he was employed as an assistant to the athletic director at the Steward School and was a former employee of the Henrico County's Division of Recreation and Parks.

Baynes came to school officials in October and said he was under investigation, at which point he resigned, The Steward School said Friday.

Bayens was released on bond October 26. He's prohibited from leaving the Commonwealth and is prohibiting from having contact with his alleged victims.

An investigation to the movie production company from which Baynes purchased the pornographic DVD was launched by The United States Postal Inspection Service and the Foreign Law Enforcement in October of 2010.
