Chesterfield, VA—Three people were injured in a single-vehicle crash on Woolridge Road early Sunday morning, after a car ran off the road and struck a tree. A young woman remains in critical condition after the accident.
The car was traveling southbound on Woolridge Road at approximately 3:00 AM November 4. While approaching the 5100 block of the roadway, the vehicle left the road and struck a tree.
Three people were transported to MCV Medical Center with injuries; one of the victims, 22-year-old Amy Collins, sustained life-threatening wounds. According to a family friend, Ms. Collins was a passenger in the back seat of the car when it crashed. She suffered extensive injuries, including a broken pelvis, a punctured lung, a fractured rib, a broken elbow, punctured liver and four lacerations to her face. The family friend also says police told Ms. Collins family the car struck five trees as it went down an embankment after the crash.
