Police ID Driver Killed After Car Hits Richmond Home

Richmond, VA—Police have identified the driver killed when his car ran off the road and slammed into a Richmond home Sunday.

Antany L. Turner, 29, of Richmond, was killed Sunday. The wreck happened at approximately 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

Turner was driving a four-door Buick on Hopkins Road near Pompey Spring Road when he lost control of the vehicle, police said.

The car crossed the eastbound lanes, collided with a parked car, flipped and then struck a home in the 2800 block of Hopkins Road.

Police said Turner was traveling at a high rate of speed when the wreck occurred.

Turner was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses told 8News the car was traveling at nearly 80 MPH before the crash; the speed limit on that section of Hopkins Road is 35 MPH.

Police said alcohol did not appear to a factor in the wreck.
