DINWIDDIE, VA—A Dinwiddie man faces first degree murder charges in the death of his father.

Dinwiddie County Sheriff's Deputies located the body of a deceased male while investigating an incident at a residence in the 25000 block of Sawmill Road in the Carson area of Dinwiddie County on Monday.

Police identified the victim as 57-year-old Cal Greely, Jr. of Dinwiddie.

Mr. Greely's son, Jeffrey Joseph Greely, 23, of the 25000 block of Sawmill Road was arrested and charged with first degree murder.

Cal Greely, Jr.'s body was transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Richmond where an autopsy will be conducted to determine cause of death.

Jeffrey Joseph Greely is being held without bond at Meherrin River Regional Jail pending a preliminary hearing in Dinwiddie County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

Preliminary investigation reveals an ongoing domestic argument between the father and son may have been a motivating factor in the homicide.
