RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia tourism officials are launching a self-guided trail and interactive site to help movie and history buffs retrace the steps of Daniel Day-Lewis in his starring role in "Lincoln."

On the eve of the film's nationwide release, the state tourism office has scheduled a news conference at the Capitol to discuss the highlights of the movie trail and interactive website. The Steve Spielberg film was staged entirely in Virginia, primarily in Richmond and Petersburg.

Filmmaking has become a big hit in Virginia, and the promotion is intended to draw from that growing revenue stream. Last year, the industry's total economic impact in Virginia was up 14.5 percent to more than $394 million. The industry also contributed nearly $60 million in state and local tax revenue.
