Richmond, VA—Over 300 American Red Cross volunteers helped pack supplies to ship to victims of Superstorm Sandy in New York and New Jersey on Sunday.
Volunteers gathered at the American Red Cross Disaster Supply Center, located at 4441 Carolina Avenue in Richmond, to organize donations for families impacted by Sandy. Food, water and other supplies were packed into boxes from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
12,000 coolers were packed with non-perishable food items, and are expected to help hundreds of families enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday.
