Richmond, VA—The
22-year-old man who was shot to death on Nelson Street early Monday morning has
been identified.
Antonio D. Washington,
of the 7600 block of Beth Road,
was found dead when officers arrived to the scene in the 1200 block of Nelson Street
shortly before 3 this morning.
Police took a
25-year-old female into custody at the scene, and she was interviewed by
detectives. After preliminary investigation, interviews with witnesses and
after comparing evidence found at the scene and statements made by the female
taken into custody, no charges were filed against the woman.
Police continue
to investigate the shooting, which has been classified as a tragic accident.
