Fredericksburg Bank, Apartments Evacuated After Attempted Bombing

Fredericksburg, VA—A credit union was evacuated, after the attempted bombing of an ATM, and after a bomb detection dog indicated that there may be an explosive device inside a dumpster near the scene.

Media outlets report that the ATM had scorch marks and dents after someone tried to blow it up, presumably to get to the cash inside of it.

Police say six apartment in a complex adjacent to the crime scene were evacuated.

After investigation, no explosive devices were found int he dumpster.
