Richmond, VA—After allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl, a convicted sex offender from Richmond was arrested Saturday.
47-year-old Louis E. Speight faces ten felony charges related to the sexual assault, which was reported by the victim's mother on Saturday, December 8.
The 15-year-old victim's mother contacted police after discovering inappropriate behavior between her daughter and Speight.
The same afternoon, Speight was arrested without incident by Virginia State Police. He was held without bond pending his arraignment Monday morning in the City of Richmond District Court.
Speight was charged with eight counts of Taking Indecent Liberties with a Child, one count of Object Sexual Penetration and one count of Use of Communications Systems to Facilitate Certain Offenses Involving Children.
Speight is a convicted sex offender, and was in compliance with the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry at the time of his arrest.
