CHESTERFIELD, VA—A Chesterfield man was shot and killed during an officer involved shooting Monday evening.
It happened at a home in the Surreywood Subdivision, as Chesterfield Police were attempting to serve warrants at a home.
Officers were attempting to serve Brian McDaniel, 38, of the 7700 block of Millcreek Drive with two felony domestic assault warrant. The warrants were related to previous domestic incidents at the same address, police said.
Officers were allowed in the home and attempted to make contact with McDaniel, when a stand off was initiated.
During the stand off, officers heard gunfire as they tried to negotiate with McDaniel.
McDaniel then aimed a gun at the officers, who then shot at McDaniel. McDaniel was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police continue their investigation into this incident. No officers were injured in the incident.
