Roof Collapse At Henrico Home After Overnight Fire

Posted: Updated:

HENRICO, Va – An early morning fire causes extensive damage to an East End home. At 3:54 AM Henrico 911 received multiple calls for a house on fire at 2203 Cleary Road near Mechanicsville and I64.

When fire units arrived they found heavy fire coming from the roof of a one story single family home. The occupants of the home were outside and confirmed that no everyone is out. An exterior fire attack was established due to the large amount of fire in the roof structure.

A collapse of the roof occurred within ten minutes of units arriving. The bulk of the fire was knocked down shortly after collapse. The fire was officially marked under control at 5:06 AM. The occupant stated the smoke detector woke the family and they were able to make it outside to safety.
