Richmond, VA—An elderly woman was taken to the hospital, after she smashed her car into a tattoo parlor on Forest Hill Avenue at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday evening.
The victim, a woman in her 70s, was injured when she lost control of her car and crashed into the glass front window of Dillgaf Tattoo Shop. The building is located in the 6900 block of Forest Hill Avenue.
The car was removed from the shop within a few hours of the accident, and the damaged window and wall were boarded up.
A witness who saw the accident happen told 8News that after the crash, the car's wheels were suspended in the air, and the engine was still revving, presumably because the elderly victim could not lift her foot from the gas pedal.
Police continue their investigation of the incident; it is unclear if the victim was suffering a medical emergency when she crashed the car.
