8News has learned that Texas authorities confirm Geronimo Aguilar is in custody, after surrendering without incident at his home in Richmond Tuesday afternoon. Two warrants had been issued for Aguilar's arrest earlier in the week...More >>
Richmond, VA—A 2-block area is being evacuated and all traffic has been stopped in the 2500 block of Phaup Street, after a gas main ruptured Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to the scene at approximately 3:35 p.m., after residents reported a very strong smell of gas. Upon further investigation, a ruptured gas line was found on Phaup Street, in front of Fairfield Court Elementary School.
Residents in a 2-block radius are being evacuated, and police are rerouting all traffic away from the area.
