Man Charged With Murder In South Richmond Shooting

RICHMOND, VA— Richmond Police have arrested a man they say shot and killed another man in South Richmond on Tuesday.

Chris L. Taylor, 26, of the 3700 block of Crutchfield Street, was arrested just before 3 a.m. Wednesday after detectives found him hiding in a hotel on Commerce Road.

Taylor was charged with murder and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was also charged on numerous outstanding warrants, police said.

Police say Taylor shot and killed 20-year-old Brandon E. Goode early Tuesday evening.

Police were called to the 1700 block of Rosecrest Avenue in Hillside Court at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday. When officers arrived, they found Goode in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Goode was transported to VCU Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 5:00 p.m.
