Hearts, Hands and Hugs for Sandy Hook Elementary is a movement that was started by an 8News viewer.
The idea is to show support for the town of Newtown, Ct, by creating a ribbon to welcome students to their new school.
You can participate by having your child trace his or her hand on card stock or heavy construction paper. Write their name, city and state on the hand, and a brief message.
Mail card to P.O. Box 405, Sandston, VA 23150.
All of the hands will be linked together by a ribbon and sent to each of the victims' families, the first responders, and new school where the children of Sandy Hook Elementary will be attending in the beginning of January.
