Caroline Co., Va - At approximately 8:16 a.m. Sunday morning, Virginia State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on Interstate 95 northbound at the 108.6 mile marker in Caroline County.

The crash occurred when the driver of a 2002 Kenworth tractor-trailer ran off the left side of the roadway and overturned onto its left side in the median. The trailer was loaded with approximately 77,000 pounds of tomatoes. None of the tomaotes were spilled when the tractor-trailer overturned.

The driver, who was wearing his safety belt, was not injured in the crash. There are no lanes blocked at this time. The driver was traveling from Florida to D.C. at the time of the crash.

Clean-up crews are on-scene and in the process of uprighting the tractor-trailer.
The Virginia State Police Motor Carrier Unit is assisting with the ongoing crash investigaiton.
