VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - After seven decades of marriage, a Virginia Beach couple is saying "I do" again.
Ricardo Mendoza and his wife, Beatrice Mendoza, plan to renew their wedding vows Monday night to mark their 70th anniversary.
One of their 11 children, Antonio Mendoza, tells 8News affiliate WVEC that he's proud to have parents who have been together this long. He says the family looks forward every year to celebrating another anniversary.
Ricardo Mendoza was 17 and Beatrice Mendoza was 18 when they were married in their native Philippines.
They moved to Virginia Beach in 1985.
