Memorial Fund To Honor Prince William Officer Killed In Line Of Duty

Prince William County, VA—A memorial fund has been created for a Prince William County police officer killed in the line of duty Monday.

Officer Chris Yung, 35, was responding to the scene of an accident in Bristow, when a mini-van crossed in front of his car, hitting him.

The fatal accident occurred at 2:04 p.m., at the intersection of Nokesville Road and Piper Lane. Officer Yung was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The arrangements for the viewing and funeral service for Officer Chris Yung have been finalized and are open to all County government employees.

The viewing and wake will be held Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Hylton Memorial Chapel, 14640 Gideon Drive in Woodbridge.

A funeral service will be held Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at 10 a.m., at the Hylton Memorial Chapel. Interment will be private.

Officer Yung was assigned to the Traffic Unit as a motorcycle officer, and had been a member of the department for seven years.
