RICHMOND, VA—A Code Red lockdown at Albert Hill Middle School has been lifted after reports of a suspicious person prompted the school to undergo a lockdown Wednesday morning.
The school was put on a Code Red lockdown after a parent reported seeing a suspicious man who appeared to be armed with a weapon near the school, school officials said.
Richmond Police searched the area and questioned a male in the area of the school. No arrests were made.
The school is located at 3400 Patterson Avenue in Richmond.

Good Afternoon Albert Hill Parents and Guardians:
As an update, please be aware that the Richmond Police Department has completed a perimeter check of our school and found no visible threat. As a result, the code red status has been lifted. Thank you for partnering with us to ensure the safety of our students and staff.

Greetings Albert Hill Parents and Guardians:
Please be aware that we recently received information from a student who observed a suspicious male who appeared to be in possession of a weapon near the school building. In response to this information, we have initiated the following swift and appropriate action,
-Implemented a code red restricting movement within the building
-Increased our onsite safety and security personnel
-Informed the Richmond Police Department for additional surveillance in the area
Additionally, we are monitoring all exterior cameras that provide entrance into the building. We will continue to be extra vigilant as the safety of our students and staff is our top priority.
