Fredericksburg, VA—After a woman reported being assaulted inside the Fredericksburg City Maintenance Building, an employee of the city has been arrested and charged with sexual battery.
Police learned of the incident on December 27, 2012, when an adult female reported that she'd been assaulted inside the city maintenance building at 1000 Tyler Street on December 14.
The victim knew the offender, and was not physically injured.
After investigating, Fredericksburg Police arrested 59-year-old Zolly Hawthorne of Spotsylvania; Hawthorne is an employee of the Department of Public Works.
Hawthorne faces misdemeanor sexual battery charges. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Detective Carlos Reyes at 540-654-5919.
