HOPEWELL, VA—Hopewell Police are searching for the man who held a convenience store worker at gunpoint during an armed robbery Saturday.
It happened at the Red Barn Food Store, located at 500 E. Randolph Road, at around 4:20 p.m. Saturday.
Police said a man, armed with a revolver style handgun, entered the business. Once inside, the suspect held the clerk at gun point and demanded the clerk "give him all the money and open the safe," police said.
The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money from the register and a counter below the register, before fleeing.
A convenience store worker told police the suspect was running on foot down a path behind the store that leads into the Davisville Housing Area.
No one was injured in the robbery.
The suspect is described as a black male, 6'0 to 6'2, 150-175 lbs. He was wearing a black ski cap, a black mask on his face, a black jacket and black pants.
